Harp Lessons in Spring, Texas
I started playing the harp after studying piano for five years. It was an easy transition for me because I was already adept at reading sheet music. Some harp teachers are not willing to start a beginner on the instrument without any background in music theory. I used to be one of these teachers. We are fortunate to have a brick-and-mortar harp store in a nearby town where we can rent harps and purchase method books to help the beginning harp student learn music theory at the same time. You will need to rent a harp for the purpose of home practice. Our time together will consist of a weekly 45 minute lesson. I will teach you how to tune the harp, replace strings, clean it, and the various beautiful techniques we use to play this glorious instrument! Beginners
We are beyond blessed to give our beginner harpists lessons on our studio lever harp. It is lighter in weight, shorter in stature, and allows you to focus on developing solid and beautiful technique. Having an in-studio harp also means you are not having to schlep around town with a harp in your vehicle! You can keep your rented or purchased harp at home for daily practice.
What do I charge for harp lessons?
Harp lessons are 45 minutes, once a week, and cost $50 per lesson. Harp rental fees are in addition to your lesson cost. Email me for my personal recommendations for instrument rental and music resources.
